Hi family,
I guess it was left up to me to start this. No comments from anyone if it is not the most efficient, and up to date. I just want a spot to call our own. To chat and stay in the loop. Feel free to post and chat here as much or as little as you like. Love you all,
Katie

I am enjoying my weekend. We have a consulting group that is going to help redesign the ED here this coming week. Lots to do. Donald is at work today. We are excited to have mom and dad coming on the 10th of Feb. We can show them the house. We might go whale watching...if we can get Dad interested :)
ReplyDeleteWe're planning on going to Beijing and Taipei for a couple weeks the end of March.
hi everyone...I'm on board :) Hugs from Alabama and hoping for a good week! God is good! It was a relaxing weekend enjoying time with friends but now its backing to grueling homeschooling (HA) and work for Dano, no trips this week I think. We love you all and miss you much!
ReplyDeleteWell I haven't had a good bowel movement since yesterday and I'm a little concerned. Oh... don't write everything that comes to mind? Well I had a long week last week. Put in 70 at the office, should be a nice check.
ReplyDeleteHolly and I plan on taking in some theater in Bangledesh and kula lampur next month.... not. We might try and go to Chicago.. maybe. Sorry Shell it looks like we are not going to be down there for Easter. But we would like to come down there sometime this year.
Holly is taking "Clomid" to boost production, which sometimes turns her into her alter-ego, we like to call "Chloe" (not to her face, never to her face). While holly, as you all know, is cute and fun - Chloe is aggressive and a bit unstable. If any of you should interact with Chloe it is best not to make eye contact. As you can see we have had a laugh or two about this. Riiiiiigghhtt Honey?
Look forwad to reading all the updates. Later
Hmmmm. Not sure when my last bowel movement was either. Yesterday possibly? :)
ReplyDeleteSchool's going swell. I'm incredibly thankful that I have morning classes this semester; it makes a huge difference in how I spend my day. Mom and Dad are headed to San Diego next week and I'm seriously considering jumping in their bags... although they may be upset to pay for extra weight. Oh well.
Tyler and I are trying to be diligent planners. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. He's working a lot on websites and I'm in school, so it's hard to have another thing to do. It is fun to look around and imagine things: committing is the problem. :) I definitely miss my sisters right now.
I would love to go to China, Alabama, or really anywhere... possibly to Vancouver for the Olympics. But the only traveling we have is to Chicago on the 12th to try on a dress, do some fabric searching, and celebrate a little for Mark's birthday. Luke, you guys wanna come?
lovelovelove.
My goodness, my legs are just jello. Went on a nice long ride with my buddy this afternoon. We talked on pedaling and making good circles! Yes, circles. I am trying to engage some muscles in my legs that I'm not using when I ride. Anyhow, Katie and I just signed up for a half marathon in April so I know you all think we are crazy for wanting to pay to run, but it'll be fun. You should all come out and do it with us!
ReplyDeleteLaura, you wouldn't weigh that much. Plus you dad said he's ready to just lay out in our backyard. So he won't need much clothing. By the way why aren't you coming? You're just getting married, planning a wedding is easy. Just let Tyler do some stuff then you'll know if he's ready. Haha... I'm only kidding, but really why aren't you.
So Luke, who won the bowl picks I never got a final count. I know I was in the hole after the first week of games and they didn't work out too well for me. How's the exercising going? I hear you're ready for a half marathon. Come on out in April.
Ok enough stirring the pot, Katie is probably going to kill me. Love you all .
OKAY...So I (Holly) just found out about this blog from the oh-so forgetful hubby of mine! I was going to write something nice about him, but after reading his comment have decided to knock him out...He is currently recovering in a vet-clinic-turned-rehab facility where he enjoys spending time with an array of sick animals. I chose the clinic for obvious reasons, number one being his adoration for cats, dogs and other wildlife. I will be sure to keep everyone updated on his status as it is changing daily. On another note, I am so glad that Chen RN got this going! What a great idea. I had the day off today and spent it babysitting a friend's baby. He is the chubbiest most well behaved infant ever..a true joy to watch. Besides that we have been good considering my alter-ego. Love and prayers to all of you!
ReplyDeleteso we have our 1st taste with the piggy flu...poor Alia is the 1st one down..and hopefully the last. Seth got the vaccine in the fall but they still put him on Tamilfu just to be safe with his asthma and all and since Alia has the respiratory version. I thought we would have more immunity given the fact that I was a "farm girl" but no such luck :) We watched Akeelah and the Bee tonight and had our own spelling contest, which was a hoot! We will be awfully lonely this weekend and homebound so give us a call if you want :) Don't worry Holly...I don't take any medicine at the moment and I have several alter-ego's :) Glad you had a day off! Donald...I can't imagine riding in circles.. for fun..I think it sounds like my life :) Missing you all and loving you much!
ReplyDeleteSuch silly folks. I knew this would be fun. First of all just wanted to let you all know I am typing from the toilet. We are all pooping together :)
ReplyDeleteI had a busy week and am glad to only have one day left with the consultants. Then we, the ED team have two weeks to implement an entirely new process for our ED. Essentially we bombed the our current way. This is exciting but daunting as we are challenged with getting everyone on the same page as we go live the 23rd. Out with the old and in with the new. Donald's on a 24 today, so I won't see him until morning. I think I'm just going to watch the Super Bowl by myself. I'm okay with this. No interruptions, I can quietly enjoy the game. The Charger's last game we had a party and I didn't get to watch much football as I was entertaining. Love to Alia! I will try to call to check in. As far as to Luke's health, well we all know that his disease is incurable. It's a permanent disability....luv ya buddy! Night to all. Can't wait to have a break with Mom and Dad coming. Laura, did you get the package yet? xoxoxoxo
Momma's testing...1 2 3... golden :)
ReplyDeleteDearest family of mine,
ReplyDeleteYes, the momma will be reading the words of wisdom every one shares so.... please do not write anything I shouldn't know.... I always find out anyway.... ha
I continue to be on my meds and find them very comforting.. Holly ignore the chides about your altered mental statis... It is a way of life for me.... You all know Lily is a bit off the wall.....
We hopefully are "out of here" tormorrow and on the way to California.... Hope u r prepared for the "inlaws" Donald ...
Sarah and Mark had a first in their lives with the passing of Grandpa Fabiano... We continue to pray for comfort as the family misses the dad and grandpa in the family circle.. Sarah has shared some stories of him and he has some gusto and character traits I might have...
Watch out....
Dad just said the roads seem better but has horror stories from Nita on the winter snow in West Bend.... eleven inches this past wkend and ten since yesterday.... They are hosting the AC winter conference Wed-Fri... Hope all the elders packed some extra undies or shovels....
Maybe they have a rain date... Ok enough.....
I am getting a few carpets cleaned today and am excited as I have put this off....
We are getting to know Tyler and he is getting to know us... He is quiet and I am not... Enough said... Our plans are going about like I thought they would... NOTE I am not a wedding planner... My girls would agree...Thanks for listening.. Love to my grandkids... All stay well...Mom
verse's for the day.. Compare Luke 9:23 to Jerimiah 9:23-24 ..Let's work on doing what delights God and excercise these promises as well as our bodies.. They speak to me first so don't take offense.... Keep exercising also...
okay so I missed Mark's birthday...Happy Birthday latttteeee Mark..hope it was a good one! Dan left for Windsor on Tues and was to come home on Friday but was stuck in there Friday night so he decided to visit Matt and Dani for a night, which was wonderful for him, and then got stuck again Saturday night and finally got home around 5 on Sunday. He got to bring dinner home for the family due to all the shinanigans:) Yeah! Turned out to be a winner of a Valentines Day ;) He left again Tues. a.m. for his other home in Windsor (JK)...it will soon be changing to Mexico (in the next few weeks). Anyway...thats all about us. I'm holding down the fort...sometimes shooting at my teamates instead of the enemy...but we are slowly learning. The kids decided my new grumpiest day ever was Saturday...hate those moment! We are off to studying the Middle Ages...can I just say I love learning history at this point in my life. Too bad I didn't feel this way when I was actually in school...it might have helped. I heard we have a cousin (try to follow this dear brothers)..in Peoria. Her name is Brooke and she is Fawn's sister and the daughter of one of mom's cousins(Patsy is the moms cousin and her sister is Audry in WB). Anyway...her baby was born with a virus(CMV?) that is causing some problems and could lead to hearing impairment and brain damage so they are asking for prayer. The baby's name is Drake (boy). They are a really sweet couple and since it was family I thought I would pass it on. Well...I'm off to school! Loving each and every one of you even though my phone skills suck! Love to ya'll!
ReplyDeleteokay so I didn't check my typing..yikes!
ReplyDeleteSorry you had a tough weekend. We had beautiful weather and I think I might get Mom and Dad to visit more often in the winter :) They offered to house sit while we are in China...LOL...next month. Guess high 70 degree weather without humidity is a draw?? Busy, busy with a huge ED redesign project. We go live next Tuesday. Please pray for my staff. This is a massive change for them. Pray for me for wisdom and for them to have patience and good attitudes :)
ReplyDeleteI have never used a blogspot so hope this works. Anyway, it has been hilarious reading your comments and catching up with what is going on with everybody. I can totally relate to Katie. We are going live with a new system on the 23rd so my job is crazy right now and a bit stressful. Josh can tell you about that, I was yelling at him on the phone about house stuff (not at him at the builder) bless him, he is so good about that, and realized my work phone was not on mute and I was in a meeting. Fun!! Still have a job so that's good. They are putting in flooring and plumbing fixtures so almost ready to move in. It may be the weekend of the 6th, so all of you that love moving, come on over!! :) And if you don't love moving come too. We would love to see you. Tyler is a character like his Grandma Lila and a little monkey. He likes to climb which turns into a bruise/scratch of come kind. He still loves 4 wheelers, tractors, skid loaders and being outside. He still has his little girlfriend Gracie at daycare, hugs and kisses every morning and afternoon. They are pretty cute. She goes home and says "Tyler is My BABY and sometimes My BOY". Looks like he is taken. Josh has stayed VERY busy with snow this year. I think he is about done with it too. Better get back to work. Love you all...
ReplyDeleteIt begins tonight. Man vs Nature. This constant struggle against that which desires to be but that which we must suppress. Yes my brothers and sisters, yours truly is deeply and bitterly engaged in mortal combat. The foe is ruthless and to be feared, having carried with it doom and disgust for ages. There is no doubt. Tonight, the rat must DIE!
ReplyDeleteStay tuned for breaking news on this story right here at Wirtz Clan Campsite!
We must double our efforts! The beast will not live to see Monday's daybreak!
ReplyDeleteI feel now is an appropriate time to let you all know of our plight. It's true. We have a rat. It's soo gross. We completely rearranged our kitchen. No food is accessible to us or the rat without sincere intention (could be a great dieting tool). Our apartment manager would like to give the poison the few days it is supposed to require but we know the proof is in the pudding ie a dead rat we can see (rather than in our walls). You know what is the worst thing? He ate all my dark chocolate!!
Mark...I have to say....I've never had to take on a rat. Birds in the house, cockroaches, spiders, (Luke, HA)... but never a rat :( Do tell when you catch the thing..and I think pictures are appropriate. Hope your "launches" are going well Katie and Sarah, yikes. Maybe I'll stick to teaching to read and learn about photosynthesis. :) Love you all!
ReplyDeleteI think I need to learn photosynthesis...we go live at 0700...eik..I have to go to bed..I promised to go in at 0300 to get the last minute details done...I am glutton for punishment. I just had to tell Donald that I love him and would talk to him tomorrow...he is at work today. Mark, please send us all a picture of the dead rat! Way cool! Love you all.xoxoxo, lou
ReplyDeletePS, How random is that Sarah? Both Go-Live's the 23rd?? Hope moving goes well. Sorry we can't help. Michelle, got your message. Send me the dates that your friend is going to be in Taiwan.
ReplyDeleteDan just suggested we have a picture of the campster, more fitting of our blog name wouldn't ya think, and maybe then dad would grace us with his presence on this blog. Maybe even a picture with mom and dad in the campster..just for s&g (Dan's words, not mine of course :) He's a fiesty one tonight....:)
ReplyDeletefunnier yet....maybe mom could get a picture alone in the campster for her new "single" shot.
ReplyDeleteWell, I wrote a comment and it didn't get posted so ... here goes...
ReplyDeleteI am not going to do any single shots or campster blogs as I have much more important things like getting my foot out of my mouth...
The rat is about to meet its biggest enemy ..Mother Wirtz with a metal meat cleaver and that will be the end of him... His brothers and sisters and extended family had better be warned.... Maybe I may face a worse foe in life if it is in God's plan.... but oh my this little rat needs to go back to from where ever it came from...Maybe just a picture of the Mother Wirtz near his point of entry would deter his nasty ways... Next time Mark put some tabasco sauce on the chocolate...
Must go hopefully all are well... California was great... you all need to go ..
Sarah and Josh hope to see you soon...
Has anyone heard from Matt and Dani?
Been awhile since I posted so I thought I'd update you all. I have been attempting to study for the CPD (certified in plumbing design) test, but every synaps (mark shutup) in my brain screams in agony every time I read a sentence about bournolli's equation and hydraulic radius. Matt could probably talk for hours on these subjects. I take the test April 16 so it is getting down to the wire... on a day to start studying.
ReplyDeleteWith all the Olympics going on, my old roomies and I decided we shoud going skiing in wisconsin on March 13 and anyone is invited to come. I have called josh, mark, and laura - nobody has committed. Matt you should come too.
Holly and I are going to try and go see Josh and Sarah on March 20 in the new house. The bathroom TVs better be installed by then. Ha ha.
Hope everyone is well.
Luke...get studying...(coming from the world's greatest procrastinator). My ED's redesign is successful! Our Average LOS (length of stay) has been decreased by almost 50%...we went from over 5 hours to 2.54 hour average in the first 24 hours. Staff are very stressed as this is a new process. I have had four staff in tears and working at being the motivator and positive influence. Change is hard and "uncomfortable"...essentially the playing field has been leveled and the experienced and inexperienced nurses are learning side by side. Some of the "experienced" nurses are having more difficulty changing their practice...anyone heard about the old dog new trick theory? it does apply..LOL..Take care all! Good luck with the move Josh and Sarah....Death to the rat!!! Love ya,
ReplyDeleteKatie
Okay everyone. The poison seems to have done the trick. Although I lack the body to prove it, the rat seems to be gone. Now, who wants to come visit? :)
ReplyDeleteYeah for the weekend. Boo for the rain. At home just being lazy. I know its hard. We have just a couple weeks before our trip to China and Taiwan. No tsunami yet. I know how much you all wanted us to have beach front property but nothing yet. Katie's working hard and late. Her ER is going to restructuring so it has been busy. Well we are both safe. Talk to you later.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, the infamous Wirtz blog.
ReplyDeleteAfter being reminded by Luke a week or two ago, and pa today, I decided to bless you all with my first blog typing ever. Where to begin.....ok, I'm terrible on the phone, and perhaps worse on a blog...what to say. So guess I'll respond individually.
Katie - managing people and implementing change....hmm, no advice. Very hard to do. Got lots of managment books you can read. I was reminded of the importance of interpersonal skills this week....you all know how good at that I can be. My football coach approach has its many setbacks:(
Shelly - we had a blast with Dan. Send him to Canada more often. Next time send your kids too - oh, suppose you can come also if you want.
Luke - get studying. You've proven by winning the "greatest loser" contest you can do it when you buckle down. Maybe I'll entice you with some $ if ya pass. Speaking of losing weight, I'm doing ok at running a couple times a week, but eating way too much - would love to blame my wife for cooking so good. Maybe some warm weather will help me get back in swing of things.
Josh - figure out which part of that 40 acres you're going to sell to me. Good luck moving in...that can be very stressful. Don't be like me and overdue it and get your wife of wanting to kill you (even more than normal at least).
Mark - a rat huh. Guess that I don't need to tell you what rats carry for diseases. Just for your enlightment, guess what the greatest advance in medical history was (per the American Journal of Medicine? - or some med magazine)...the invention of sewers. That's right. Hmmm. Perhaps your furry friend crawled out of the sewer to visit you. That should pump your wife up!
Laura. Elope and save some money. Honeymoon in our playhouse (we'll only let the boys come out during the day). Of course Dad will let you drive the campster to get out here.
We Wirtz folks in Fort Wayne are surviving. My wife has some form of bronchitis, and when she starts her coughing fits I want to....kiss her I suppose. If anyone can show her how to "hack" and get the crap out of her throat I will pay you richly. I tried to get her to spit out the window today on way to church - imagine what fun that was :) Dallen turned 8 this week and I can't believe it. We bought the game Monopoly for his birthday. Hilarious. I bet they have played 20 hours already.
Truman is a wild man. He loves math...and eating his boogers. Any advice on that?
Selah is a princess. Loves to dress up and do all that goofy girl stuff. She can turn on the "water works" as G'pa Stickling says, at a moments notice. Going to have to send her to Katie and Shelly so she learns how to be tough someday:) Yep, Laura, you're a dolly too, not going to cut it :)
Enough huh. Love ya all
Matthew
Praying for Ma...last minute rush to host Apples of Gold. Working night shifts almost one week under our belt. Lots of comments, more negative than positive right now...really trying to get everyone pumped up! I am a personal trainer...we're "losing the Wait" We have gone almost a week without patients waiting to be seen by the Doctor. Our ED waiting room is now called the "visitor's lounge"...no latte machine though...we would just attract more of the homeless :)
ReplyDeleteLove you all...glad to see you finally made it matt. I have bought a few books...not taken the time to read ...I would rather read fiction...
Tyler got his bars out today.
ReplyDeleteWe went into the hospital at 12:30pm with surgery scheduled for 2:30pm. It was weird. As soon as they found out I was his fiance all responsibility and information was given to me first over his mom and dad. You're probably all laughing at your little sister, thinking "duh!" but it took me off guard.
The surgery he had done was because of pectus excavatum. Three years ago they put two titanium bars in his chest using the Ness procedure- supposedly one of the most painful surgeries. Tyler was a rare case. He started getting worse after surgery, and they discovered an infection. At the time he was the only person to catch infection and still be able to keep the bars in. Finally, after three years of pushing his chest out, the bars needed to come out.
Surgery was only to take 90 minutes, and they didn't really start until 4:00ish. I paced the waiting room back and forth while Tyler was inhaling fruit punch laughing gas (I would say he got the better end of the deal, but I don't think that's necessarily true). At 5:15ish the surgeon called me to tell me one bar was out, and they were working on the second. FINALLY (after I had read every magazine in the waiting room) the doctor came down to talk with us. He said the surgery was a little longer because Tyler's bones were growing around and onto? the bars (Mark thought this was nifty) so they had to deal with that, but other than that he was stable throughout surgery and doing great.
After another hour-ish I got to go see him. I was a little worried. After going through this I realize how little I know about the medical field (i.e. the fact that we were there from noon - 8pm seemed shocking).
Thankfully, Tyler was bright and cheery, drinking some cranberry juice, eating graham crackers, animatedly chatting with his nurse, and waving his titanium bars in hand (which will be our future mantle piece). We (his mom & dave, his dad, and I) were expecting the worst- his last surgery I guess was just beyond awful. But he was happy, and it was so good to see him. We were home at 8:30ish and I just left there. I feel beyond emotionally taxed. Mainly thought I am in awe at God's hand in this.
Tyler (and I, I must admit) were worried because last May his grandpa never came out of surgery. Along with that Tyler's first surgery didn't go well ... so it was a time when a lot of fear could have come upon us. Yet I wish I could have captured Tyler's peace today. He felt God's presence alongside him, and he came out of surgery to a Christian nurse and they got to chat a little. I wish I could explain to you how elated I was to see him calm and to see him trusting.
Anyway, now he's glued up on the sides, barless, unable to lift more than 15 lbs, and on tylenol with codine every 4 hours. We'll see how the pain goes, but mainly we are just praying away infection; please join us!
I think that's a pretty good short novel on the subject. Love you guys. :)
Hi kids..
ReplyDeleteMatt welcome to the clan... dad said he tried to write on this but kinda wonder if he did the same thing I did the first time.. I don't know but it too dissappeared... It is out there in cyberspace....
Laura said she is writing on the blog about Tyler's surgery outcome....
Hope Dani gets better Matt.... a couple ladies and I talked about our attempts to hack a louie and ended up wetting our pants from laughter...
So goes old worn out mothers...
The week was tough but know God is in control and sees us thru stuff that we never expect to happen... I still mantain positive expectations of others is what I will key on...negativaty eats me up and brings me down... Please pray for me....No health issues.. personal human relations... Love to you all.... mom
We leave for China and Taiwan on Monday. Working every day until then. Hope to catch all of you on the phone. Work is still pretty rough. A few nurses are bucking the change...are being asked to work elsewhere...lots of hours..Donald and I need a vacation so we can see each other :) Hope the end is in sight. Worked through last weekend and same with this weekend. Just working and sleeping. Hoping my house will clean itself via the Magic Elf method (right Mark?). Laura, thanks for the great detail with the surgery. Sounds like you were a great little nurse! Mama, keep it up! Praying for your strength and wisdom. Josh and Sarah, hope you have a safe move this weekend! Wish we lived closer. Would love to help you !! Love to all of you. Dani, hope you're getting better. Glad to hear you're running. That always helps me. A little fresh air and sweat always helps!
ReplyDeleteLove to all, Katie Lou
Well its a lovely Friday here in Alabama....:) I have 3 extra boys today so its a rowdy one! Just popping in to say hello! I remembered a funny story from the dentist the other day that I had to share. I know you all remember the funny day we compared the sizes of our mouths and I of course tried to show you that mine was actually quite small. Well anyway...the other day at the dentist I was having my teeth cleaned and she asked me to open a little wider and so I complied (normal for me) and she said "I'm sure you've never heard this but you sure have a small mouth"...I wish all of you could have been there to enjoy the moment with me...I just smiled! :) Well...it looks like Dan is helping someone move tomorrow and I'm doing a field trip to Bham with the kids to the art museum, botanical gardens and possibly the McWayne Science Center so whew...should be an interesting day! I get to count it as a day of school towards next week since I will be busy getting the church ready for our Palm Sunday celebration. Dan is waiting for a green light to go to Mexico..maybe the week after Palm Sunday....its gearing up to be another busy time for him. We are studying the middle ages and I must say I had my first encounter with "using my knowledge" from this study last night when I watched Persuasion with a friend. I actually understood or caught some of the society issues. Yeah...its proof you are never to old to learn. Seth is busy reading the Lord of the Rings..he has finished the 1st 2 books and watched the movies and is now working on the 3rd. As always the conversations are filled with much drama and enthusiasm..and a little boasting...but he is a 10-year-old boy right. He is really looking forward to seeing everyone at the wedding! Olivia is fully a girl with charm and attitude. I really enjoy laughing with her but man if you cross her path she can stomp her feet and march off with the best of them. She is so sweet with little kids..I love to see that. Alia is...hmmm..so full of personality. She is so happy and so sad in 30 seconds. She is starting to read a little and that excites her but she hates when she doesn't know something. She draws pictures all day long. My kids discovered a cave in the woods and pretend they have a blacksmith shop to make amo to defend themselves against "teenagers". The neighborhood kids join them often as soon as school is out. Dan and I are hanging in there...trying to survive the mass amounts of energy our kids have and attempting to finish our house projects...we really have problems finishing things. I think we need a Wirtz family work day here at our house! Well...just thought I'd give an update. Miss you all and love you lots. Thanks for all who send Alia cards...she still has them on a stack in her room and is constantly playing with them...she treasures them! Praying that the eyes of our hearts are open to receive His great love for us! Oh how He loves us!
ReplyDeleteShel
Is everyone going to come out of hibernation.???? The last blog hit was Shelly on March l9th.... Ok I have been off the beaten trail lately tooo...
ReplyDeleteThe truth is I went to Iowa and it really was a good experience.. People actually talk in the grocery store and of course dad and I had a Hy-vee breakfast with a helpful smile in every aisle...
Tyler and Gma bonded and he likes to clean as much as I do... Sarah and Josh have a neat house and Dad and I got to share checking out all the exciting toys... I will not share.. you must go and see for yourselves..
We are slowly getting some wedding stuff sorted out.. I get the gitters and then figure it will all come together with a little luck...
I am excited to see the sun and feel the warm sun... Here comes spring... Dad is anxious to plant sweet corn...
Mark thanks for coming down to see us... hope Sarah's springbreak goes well.
Hopefully Katie and Donald are coming back soon it seems like forever since I heard from them..
Cleaning is overrated but since I get paid I try to take some extra here and there to keep me out of trouble... Love to ya all....mom
Let us remember to be thankful for this week before Jesus died and suffered for all of our sins..And then was victorious over death and is still interceding for us... Thank you Jesus...
Hey all, I've been meaning to post this for a while but wanted to confirm what it was actually legitimate. After Laura's wedding, Sarah and I are planning on visiting Josh and Sarah in Iowa and, perhaps, extending the trip to that most glorious of lands, West Bend. There seems to be some tepid interest among other family members and I just wanted to announce it in hopes of drawing others to our cause. This quest is not for the faint of heart. No really, if you have a heart condition you should talk to your doctor first as this trip may not be for you. But it is probably for you. Never mind that though, what do you all think? Do you have the time, nay, courage to venture into those vast plains? Or will you cower within your own prospective states, knowing that ache in your heart will never leave until you've crossed the Mississippi . . . or Missouri. FYI We can fit 3 people in the back of the escort and at least 4 small children in the trunk. Bring snorkels.

ReplyDeleteAhhh, for the weak of heart...Mark I love your humor...Donald and I were going to come out the week before the wedding and wanted to know what you thought of that? What are your Memorial Day plans? We thought Iowa for Sunday through Weds and then head to Illinois...
ReplyDeleteOh and for all my family runners, you're cordially invited to run a 5K on 6/5 at 0730 in Washington, Illinois at the Cherry Festival...
The bride has granted her permission of course...
Love you all and can't wait to see you!!!!
Dear ones.......
ReplyDeleteDid the mother of the bride get her say on the running of the bulls (oops) on Saturday b4 the wedding??????? No, of course not... We will be preparing the ?FH... and running errands with as much enthusiasm as a marathon... ok nuff said.....
The trip to Iowa will be after the wedding for me but feel free to go before Katie but Shell and the kids and Danielle and her kids are planning after the wkend I think that is what we are planning.. Mark takes his test the Friday before so count him out... I just talked to him... ...Will be in touch.. Dad and I plan to go to Dan and Shells next week since we missed Easter wkend with them... Best go love and prayers for all til we meet.... MOM...
I am having some pre-wedding nerves.but all in all still partially sane....
"Clydesdale Challange" participants - This is your one month warning. So far just Josh and I... waiting on a response from Matt and Dan. Sorry Mark and Donald there is a minimum weight requirement and overachievers are not accepted.... unless you give us a 7 minute(arbitrary, subject to change depending on your eagerness) head start.
ReplyDeleteI hope nobody has been training because this could be really ugly. I sent an email to Dan with the guess of the winner being around 25 minutes... I'm no where close.
We are back from Alabama and no we don't have a banjo on our knee... Nice time with the 3 musketeers.. They certainly are growing up and soon will pass my intelligance level.. Mike could check Seth's math and I didn't try... The only negative thing about the trip was the no=see'um bug bites on my ankles... Nasty ...
ReplyDeleteWill lessen my potential new possible place to relocate to.... Maybe in the winter they would be less bitey... I am sleepy so good nite.. MOM
